These Rangers fans question Gerrard loan decision after Murphy goal

Rangers winger Jamie Murphy continued his fine form on-loan at Burton Albion with his fifth goal in seven games since joining the League One club [Soccerbase].

Murphy has been on fire at the Pirelli Stadium and his latest strike turned out to be the eventual winner in Burton’s 3-2 win over Southend United.

The 30-year-old winger is desperate to prove his form and fitness so he can return and make an impact on this Rangers side.

How he’s started at Burton certainly won’t do his chances of getting back into the Rangers squad any harm.

The former Brighton and Motherwell winger initially joined Rangers on loan in January of 2018 and impressed despite playing in a stumbling Gers side.

Murphy signed a three-year contract the following summer and started the season as a key player in Steven Gerrard’s plans.

But Murphy tragically tore his anterior cruciate ligament on Kilmarnock’s controversial artificial surface at Rugby Park in August the same year.

Rangers fans everywhere would love to see the likeable Murphy resurrecting his career following close to 18 months out on the side-lines with injury.
