Former Celtic striker and Scottish football pundit Chris Sutton took to Twitter to give a salty response to Rangers’ derby day domination of the Parkhead club.
Despite Rangers’ commanding performance the pundit couldn’t resist taking a dig with Celtic missing several first-team stars.
The ex-Chelsea and Blackburn striker sent a Tweet saying “Well done Rangers thoroughly deserved win against Celtic reserves…”
Well done Rangers thoroughly deserved win against Celtic reserves…

The Parkhead club were missing the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie, Hatem abd Elhamed and Nir Bitton through Covid-19 related issues.
The toiling Parkhead club were also without the likes of James Forrest and Christopher Julien through injury.
But there was still a wealth of players from the Celtic Park side’s considerable squad with a multi-million-pound team put out to play the Gers.
It was certainly anything but the Celtic reserves – even if the squad was depleted – and the Parkhead side struggled to cope with Rangers’ imposing game plan.
It was a thoroughly deserved victory and if anything, shows up Celtic’s risky, high-cost transfer strategy in recent years with this super squad turning out to be quite ordinary.
Sutton’s salty response wasn’t missed by Rangers fans who gunned for the former striker in the aftermath of the result.
Celtic fans saying they had half a team missing 😂
Including 3 LOAN players
Our team cost £19,700,000
0 LOAN players 😂🇬🇧

Chris that tweet is embarrassing Celtic were without 4 players Neil Lennon was going on about how big his squad was. Celtic were beat by the far better team Celtic had no fight no desire no urgency

Sour grapes indeed. What happened to Celtic's enormous war chest, huge squad, tremendous summer signings and claims no Rangers player would get in the Celtic team.

Rangers have dominated the last 3 old firm games! Stevie G has Lennon’s number, easy peasy!

Celtic reserves 😂
So much for £50m+ and years to close the “massive gulf” when in reality it seems if Celtic have 4 players out, bring in multi million pound replacements from their “much better squad depth” then that’s not enough and it’s “reserves”.
We love you Chris 😘

Rangers ran out comfortable winners at Celtic Park courtesy of a Connor Goldson double with the big defender scoring a goal in each half to send the Gers four points clear at the top.
