Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack put in a performance which fellow number 8 Steven Gerrard would’ve proud of – and generated a photo with him to remember in the process.
The Gers midfielder was a pulsating, energetic presence in the middle of the pitch and topped off a commanding performance with two superbly taken strikes from the edge of the box.
After the second, Jack went running over to his manager who’s clearly having a huge influence on his development. The image was captured perfectly by the media team.
From one number 8 to another, Rangers have begun to see Ryan Jack reaching his true potential as he establishes himself as one of the first names on the Ibrox teamsheet.
His evolution this season has been extraordinary to watch and he is arguably the form midfielder in Scotland at the moment.
Much of the credit must go to Gerrard, who was a major driving force in getting the former Aberdeen skipper to sign a new contract.

Gerrard had said that “if anyone deserves a pay rise and an extension, it’s Ryan Jack” [Evening Times].
Much like fans were delighted by Jack’s decision to sign on till 2023, they also loved the photo of him sliding in to meet Gerrard.

Jack now has three goals for the season and the midfielder himself believes that he is in the form of his life at Ibrox right now.
At 27, we could be seeing a midfielder who’s close to hitting his peak as a footballer.
That’s right, you get the feeling there’s still more to come from Ryan Jack.
