Sunday’s Old Firm match is always a stage for players on both sides to become heroes.

Over the years, Rangers players have written themselves into Ibrox folklore with stand out performances, heroic saves or amazing goals.

If Rangers can pick up a result on Sunday, it’ll be no different.

Here’s three players who could be the stand outs in this massive early-season Old Firm.

McGregor

He dives to the right.

Allan McGregor is no stranger to the Old Firm cauldron and his experience will be massive in this game. His famous Samaras penalty save at Ibrox went a huge way to winning the league in 2011. He’ll need to be on top form to come away with anything from Parkhead tomorrow.

Alfredo Morelos

Rangers’ El Bufalo Soldier has been on rampant form and a constant thorn in the side of defences so far this season.

Rangers have managed to stave off interest, so now the 22-year-old can focus on his football. He’s yet to score against Celtic – much to their glee – but he’s a decent bet to change that tomorrow.

Kyle Lafferty

Kyle Lafferty is another who is no stranger to Old Firms. He’s notched a couple against them in a Rangers shirt too. And out of one – he scored more goals against Celtic last season than Rangers did.

The 6ft3 Northern Irishman spoke when he re-joined the Gers about needing to make amends. A couple of Old Firm goals at Celtic Park should do the trick!
