The probable Rangers XI in Spain after team rocked by 5 absences

Rangers were always going to be up against it in Spain.

Even at full strength, it’d be a tough task to overcome the Spaniards on their own patch. Not that it’s stopped us being hopeful of a result. Even Super Lee McCulloch is.

We don’t go into games expecting to lose.

Now, there’s an even bigger challenge ahead as Rangers have had five players sensationally ruled out of the tie.

Alfredo Morelos and Jon Flanagan are feeling the effects of a delayed hangover after the red mist descended in Russia. Ryan Jack and Ovie Ejaria will also be big misses in midfield. They’d have been nailed on to start this tie. And fans will have to wait to see Gareth McAuley after the new signing was ruled out with a calf strain.

We also never make it easy for ourselves.

It’s a big ask to go there and get something, but here’s the probable starting XI that are going to do it.

Yeah, I said it. We’re getting something.

Above all else, this side will give us everything they have. And then some.
