Rangers have scored six goals in their last two games and yet Philippe Clement is still frustrated by the number of chances that his forwards aren’t taking.
The Gers boss wants his squad to focus on one game at a time and there is a clarity of message that is clearly paying off.
This isn’t the core reason why Rangers are now sitting top of the league though and even Chris Sutton has been praising the work that Philippe Clement has done in dragging us back to the summit.

Rangers defence given seal of approval under Philippe Clement
Jack Butland was the signing of the summer and with 21 clean sheets in 41 games, it’s easy to see why he has been such a popular addition amongst the Ibrox faithful.
The Rangers number one has brought a calmness and authority to the defence but a lot of the good work is happening before the ball gets to the England international.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Sutton explained:
“The key is the foundation at the back.
“St Johnstone didn’t lay a glove on them.
“That’s been a great strength of Rangers under Philippe Clement.
“Their ability to keep clean sheets and they’re very effective at what they do.”
The defending starts from the front and you can see how hard even flair players like Todd Cantwell are working when possession is turned over.
It’s becoming a recurring theme not letting opposition teams to get a shot on target.
Sutton is right, for once.
There is a belief flowing throughout the squad that everyone has to play their part at both ends of the pitch.
Add that to the tactical tweak that has seen our full-backs tuck inside and support the midfield and Philippe Clement has his side difficult to break down.
Kilmarnock this week and St Mirren last should both have scored more goals against Celtic, that is the difference, they are giving teams the chance to punish them.
They got away with it last week, they didn’t at Parkhead against Killie.
Being more clinical will make the next few months less stressful but title wins are always built on a solid defence.
