A military veteran was invited to the Hummel Training Centre to meet the Rangers team and described it as “the best day of my life”.
Glasgow resident Robert Johnston got the opportunity to meet Steven Gerrard and members of the Rangers first team during the special visit. He watched first-team training before heading to Ibrox for lunch.
The inspirational move by the club was facilitated by the Rangers Charity Foundation and was revealed on fellow charity Erskine’s Twitter account.

It is an amazing touch by the club. Rangers have gone out of their way to facilitate a special day for this old gentleman.
It’s a day he’ll never forget and one of the best days of his life. It’s something very special for Robert and the club deserve every credit for making this happen. It’s the latest in several special charity days organised by the club.
Rangers recently facilitated a special “Dream Day” for supporters who’d recently had a difficult experience or who suffer from a disability or life-limiting condition.
This was also after the club embraced the CAFE Week of Action. This special week celebrated the range initiatives Rangers have in place for disabled supporters.

Veteran charity Erskine also has a close place in Rangers supporter’s hearts.
The charity foundation has received over £800k in charitable donations from Rangers supporters since 2007.
Well done to everyone involved in making Robert Johnston’s special day come together. It is one he will cherish for the rest of his life.
