Rangers fans came to watch the Steven Gerrard press conference, but they stayed for the peculiar Polish reporter.

The eccentric reporter became the centre of attention as Steven Gerrard fielded questions ahead of Rangers’ first leg of the Playoff round tie with Legia Warsaw – no mean feat when the scouser is in the room.

Amongst comments on El Bufalo’s psychological health to the strange delivery of questions, the interviewer certainly caught the eyes and ears of Rangers fans.

In an eventful press conference, the Polish interviewer wasn’t the only main talking point as the club prepare to take to the famous pitch at the Polish Army Stadium.

Steven Gerrard also appeared to address criticism levelled at himself from members of the Scottish press for the initial exclusion of Filip Helander from the Europa League squad [Rangers.co.uk].

The big Swede was left out of the original 22-man squad but recalled 24 hours before kick-off, as is allowed per UEFA registration rules.

The presser also previewed what will be a challenging match for Rangers in Eastern Europe as they prepare to play the most successful side in Poland.

Reports claim 1700 Rangers fans will be in the stadium as the club face Legia, with Gerrard encouraging his players to use the notorious atmosphere to their advantage.

And whilst he never gave any hints about his starting XI – here’s how we think Rangers could line-up in Warsaw.
