Controversial BT Sport commentator Chris Sutton contradicted himself live on air this afternoon, during Rangers’ 1-1 draw at Tynecastle.
The Gers started slowly and after getting themselves back in the game, didn’t show anywhere near enough in the second period to earn the win.

However, one positive was Ryan Kent’s return to action.
The 22-year-old hadn’t featured since sustaining a hamstring injury at home to Livingston over a month ago.
He was introduced on the hour mark, replacing Sheyi Ojo who was extremely poor and fared badly in our player ratings.
Sutton praises Rangers winger Kent
Shortly after being introduced, Kent checked in off the left flank and drove at the Hearts defence before firing wide from the edge of the area.
It was the most progressive piece of play Rangers mustered in the second half, and it drew praise from the commentary box.
“What a really good piece of business it was from Rangers bringing him back to the club,” said Sutton on BT Sport.
By uttering those words live on air, he completely contradicted his initial assessment of the transfer.

Last month, he labelled the decision to spend £7.5m [Sky Sports] to sign the wide player from Liverpool as a ‘transfer puzzler’ that ‘reeks of sheer panic’.
He admitted Kent is a talented player, but one who wouldn’t make the difference many fans think he will. ‘It doesn’t add up,” he wrote in the Daily Record. “It looks like a final throw of the dice. And an act of desperation from Rangers,’
It seems clear that he never really believed the words he was writing and was just on yet another wind-up mission. This time around Sutton dropped his guard and exposed his real opinion.
Now that he’s back to fitness, let’s hope Kent can live up to the adoration of the Rangers fans and help the club to finally secure major silverware once more.
