Rangers star Glen Kamara has expressed his delight on Twitter after becoming a Red Bull Athlete.

The Gers signed Kamara from Dundee for a reported fee of £50k in January 2019 and since then, he’s come on leaps and bounds as a player.

He quickly established himself as a starter at Ibrox and was soon a regular in the Finland national team.

He’s starred in the Premiership, the Europa League and at Euro 2020 and has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs [TEAMtalk].

It’s this recent success and the potential for more over the coming years that has attracted energy drink giants Red Bull to the 26-year-old.

Kamara tweeted on Wednesday afternoon: “Super excited to start working with @redbull #givesyouwings”.

The post also included photos of the ex-Arsenal Academy player on the pitch and in the home dressing room at Ibrox wearing Red Bull beanies.

The Austria-based company also released a detailed athlete profile for Kamara on their website.

‘Since January 2019, he has represented Glasgow Rangers, Scotland’s most successful football club, in whose ranks he was able to celebrate the Scottish Championship in the 2020-2021 season,’ reads one section [Redbull.com].

The article ends with: ‘Kamara has openly said he dreams of playing in the English Premier League. The future of a footballer from Tampere looks really bright and time will tell what kind of achievements Kamara will achieve during his career.’

The Rangers star is a big deal back in Finland and an increasingly respected player across Europe, but the Gers will be in a strong position if other clubs make a move for him in the summer, given that Kamara is contracted until the summer of 2025.

He’s highly likely to be named in Gio van Bronckhorst’s starting XI on Thursday evening when Rangers take on Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.

However, the manager has already confirmed that another important player will miss out due to injury.
