Rangers hope to confirm their eighth summer signing by the end of the week, according to manager Steven Gerrard.
The Ibrox boss was also quick to rubbish reports linking Rangers to Simon Deli but did confirm Rangers are close to signing a centre half.
Another signature would take Rangers even closer to their full-complement as we head into the new campaign.

“There is something imminent in that position, but it is not the guy you’re talking about,” said Gerrard, as quoted by the Herald.
“It will be a permanent signing. There is still a way to go but we have had some progress in the last couple of days.
“If things progress as they have in the last 48 hours, I’m hoping something will be done by the end of the week.”
That suggests Rangers are very close to securing their fourth and final centre back for the season ahead.
Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and George Edmundson are the three centre-backs currently at Steven Gerrard’s disposal in the squad.

The big centre-half has since been pictured in Belgium as he looks to complete a move to Club Brugge.
