Steven Gerrard makes passionate Rangers 'dream' claim

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Steven Gerrard has claimed that bringing success back to Rangers and the club’s supporters is his ‘dream’ as a Premiership title beckons.

With Celtic losing at home to St Mirren on Saturday afternoon for the first time in over 30 years, the Gers still have a 23-point lead at the top of the table.

Neil Lennon’s Hoops now only have two games in hand and with the bulk of fixtures already played, there’s only going to be one winner.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

Gerrard is unwilling to admit as much yet, but after fielding questions about Liverpool and confessing his desire to manage in England one day, he spoke passionately about his current job at Ibrox and his quest for trophies with the club.

“When I took over, it was about trying to connect everyone a bit more and give the supporters a team to be proud of,” said Gerrard [Daily Mail]. “Nothing will replace leading your home town club out fully but having the opportunity to be successful as Rangers manager, that’s the dream for me.”

“It is about giving the supporters the real Rangers back. This is a huge institution with passionate people and I can relate to this club and I have had preparation for this type of intensity and scrutiny and that’s why I felt I could come and give it a good shot.”

Ever since he arrived in Glasgow in the summer of 2018, Gerrard has treated the club and its fanbase with the utmost respect.

There have been plenty of lows along the way in the shape of high-profile cup exits and league collapses.

Yet, there’s been a clear process in place all along, with quality players brought in and a new playing style implemented, while mistakes have been learned from.

A shock League Cup defeat to St Mirren aside, this season has been all about positives for the Gers, who remain unbeaten in the league, and very soon, the manager will begin to fulfil his dream by bringing the league title back to Ibrox.

A big celebration is being planned for when the title is sealed and there’s said to be a ‘realistic chance’ of the Red Arrows playing a part
