Rangers Football Club. What a team, what a stadium and what a loyal, unrivalled set of supporters.

Last night, yet again, the fans and club outdone themselves. Save one idiot.

But leaving the stadium you might’ve felt hard done by. Hell, we probably were.. But when you pull back and look at the result and this run – both in Europe and in Ibrox – it’s a mighty fine achievement from Rangers.

That still didn’t stop us demanding our players go toe-to-toe with and potentially defeat the team that finished 5th in La Liga last season. The same team which spent £70m in the Summer. The same team whose finances dwarf ours.

High standards are what make Rangers unique

That’s what makes this club unique. Barcelona, Kilmarnock, Alloa Athletic. The minimum Rangers Football Club expects is effort, the most we expect is victory. Every. Single. Game.

Steven Gerrard gets it. This team get it. That’s why we’ve yet to be beatean at Ibrox this season and that’s why we rolled up our sleeves, dug in, and got a result in telling circumstances last night.

The Gaffer has brought these standards back to Rangers. Standards which are long associated with the club but which have been all too lacking recently.

The ferociousness, passion and high standards of supporters are often seen as unrealistic and impatient. And whilst they can be, that’s not where this attitude begins.

We are Glasgow Rangers Football Club. The World’s Most Successful Club. We expect our team to acknowledge that, use it, and because of it increase their game to the capacity required to fill the Gersey.

It’s how we earned that title in the first place.
