Steven Gerrard could achieve a Rangers first this weekend

Should Rangers beat Hibs this weekend, they’ll achieve something they haven’t all season. Five wins on the bounce.
Rangers have struggled for consistency of performance and in results all season, but we’ve seen a real change in attitude since the Old Firm game.
Whether Morelos’ suspension is just a coincidence or Rangers are finally starting to settle, whatever Gerrard is doing is working. Whilst it could yet be too little, too late, it’s a real sign of our progress.

Should Aberdeen fail to beat Celtic on Saturday, our Old Firm rivals will take the title. But should the Dons win, it sets things up very nicely going into the final weeks of the season.
If Rangers can then achieve five wins on the bounce for the first time during Gerrard’s tenure, it’ll take the league title to the Old Firm at Ibrox.
If Rangers then go one better and make it six, well, one game at a time, eh?

Rangers managed to secure four wins in a row for only the second time this season at the weekend. It’s also the first time we’ve done it in the league.
It was a commanding performance over Aberdeen, even if we did need two penalties to win it in the end.

Incredibly, the only other time Rangers have won four in a row was this year. Following the disappointment to Kilmarnock in January, we went on a four-game winning streak, culminating in the 4-2 defeat of Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
Let’s hope we can come off the back of this weekend’s Aberdeen victory and stretch our current streak to five. And hopefully, keep the title race open in the process.
There’s a slim chance we could too. Steven Gerrard inadvertently called on Aberdeen to raise their game against the Celtic in a press conference last week. Let’s see if they can.
