Fresh reports this morning from the Belfast Telegraph have suggested that a Steven Davis loan move is on this January.
The Northern Ireland captain has been subject to reported interest in the last few months. Today, it seems, the Northern Irish paper has confirmed it.
The midfielder, 33, is yet to start in a league fixture this season for Southampton. Reports suggest Davis is growing increasingly frustrated with a lack of game time at St. Marys.
If Rangers do move for their former skipper, it would go some way to answering frustrations with a lack of creativity in the middle of the pitch.

Six-month deal with view to a longer move
A loan in the short term immediately appears to suit both parties. Steven Davis may be entering the twilight of his career, but the midfielder is still a top class player.
Last season, Davis played a key creative role in Southampton’s midfield but a change in system has impacted his game time. The report suggests Rangers wanted the move in the Summer but Mark Hughes didn’t want to let him go.
Now, a Steven Davis loan move seems to be the preferred option for both clubs. The move would also include the option to sign Davis permanently.

The boyhood Rangers fan knows what it means to play for the club. He played over 200 times for Rangers in his first spell at Ibrox and any move would also reunite him with international teammates Kyle Lafferty and Gareth McAuley.
Is it time to bring Stevie Davis home?
