Lee Hodson has officially left Rangers and signed for Gillingham in EFL League One.
It brings to a close a three-year stint in Glasgow for the 27-year-old. He made 27 appearances across all competitions in that time, scoring once, in a 2-1 win over Aberdeen at Ibrox in December 2016.
He’s long been out of favour at the club and spent last season on loan at St Mirren.
This news will come as a blow to The Buddies, who were reportedly aiming for a permanent deal this summer [Scottish Sun].
As his Rangers contract had expired, the Northern Ireland international leaves on a free.

“He’s a very, very accomplished stylish attacking player,” manager, Steve Evans, told Gillingham’s website. “He has signed as a right-back but has experience at left-back and across the midfield four.”
“He’s a player I have wanted to work with for a couple of seasons, I tried to do something at Peterborough last season but it wasn’t to be. I’m delighted he has decided to apply his trade here.”
Hodson himself is pleased to have resolved his future after an injury-hit season.
“I’m looking forward to getting started; it’s a club that has ambitions and I want to be a part of it,” he told Gillingham’s website.
“It’s a nice family club; I’m delighted to be here and I can’t wait to meet the lads and get started.”
