Statistics published by the Daily Record reveal where close to £1 million of Rangers’ funds went last season.
The figures relate to expenditure on agent fees since 1 February.
In that time, the club have brought a considerable number of players into the first team squad.
The likes of Allan McGregor and Steven Davis returned, while new faces such as Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and Borna Barisic all came in.

Individually, none of those signings cost much in excess of £3 million. When added together, though, the agent fees involved really stack up.
£915,926 was the total officially attributed to Rangers. It does sound a lot, but it’s actually not far off half of what Celtic forked out (£1,710,373).
Unfortunately, if you want to strengthen your squad, these fees are part and parcel of the modern game.

When put in perspective, they pale into insignificance, too.
For example, Liverpool, the biggest spenders in the Premier League, splashed out a remarkable £43.8 million.
Special praise must be reserved for St Mirren if they manage to eventually beat the SPL drop, though. Incredibly, they didn’t spend a single penny in this area across a calendar year.
