As Rangers secure the signing of South African international Bongani Zungu on deadline day, it’s not just the Ibrox club’s fans who’re excited.
The Bafana Bafana support are amongst the most vibrant and colourful in world football and Zungu is up there with their most popular players.

When Rangers were first linked to the midfielder back in July South African fans took to Twitter to pledge their allegiance to the Ibrox club.
Now the player has officially signed, the nation’s footballing supporters have pledged to follow the Teddy Bears so long as Zungu kicks a ball with them.
From Cape Town to Johannesburg, the South African fans have taken to Twitter in their numbers as one of their biggest players joins one of the world’s biggest clubs under one of the world’s biggest footballing personalities.
Here’s a few highlights from the Bafana Bafana supporters on Twitter after Zungu agreed a loan-to-buy deal with Rangers:

Whilst Zungu has been signed for what he can achieve for Rangers on the pitch, there is clearly an added commercial benefit to his move off it.
South Africa is a passionate footballing nation which clearly has a huge belief in Zungu, who has 29 caps and four goals for his country.
There are already more than a few Rangers fans in South Africa, but following the capture of the former Mamelodi Sundowns player, there is certainly now a few more.
