Some Rangers fans have stated they want Jordan Jones as Jamie Murphy’s replacement.

The supporters have taken to social media in recent days to voice their opinions over who should take the left-winger’s place.

Northern Irish international Jones was Kilmarnock’s best performer in their 3-1 defeat to Rangers at Rugby Park on Sunday. Despite coming out on the losing side, Jones caused James Tavernier several problems with his directness and ball-control.

The Express claim a move could go ahead after an injury to Jamie Murphy at the weekend.

Murphy went down with an injury on the synthetic surface in Ayrshire, and it seems the performance of Jones has been enough for fans to once again call for the 23-year-old’s signature.

Rangers failed to sign the winger back in January with a six-figure offer.

However, fans took to Twitter to confirm that they’re still interested in their club signing up the talented flair player.

Jones has been at Kilmarnock for over two years, having previously had spells at Middlesbrough, Hartlepool United, and Cambridge United.

However, there are still alternatives at the club. Steven Gerrard brought in a raft of new signings over the summer, and the natural replacement would be Ryan Kent.

Yet some fans would prefer to have Jones back after he created Kilmarnock’s goal against Gerrard’s men at the weekend.

Jones has also proved to be a big-game player in Ayrshire. During his time at Rugby Park, the 23-year-old has notched two goals at Parkhead against Celtic.

Nobody knows whether a move does materialise or not. However, sections of the Gers support have made it clear who they want.
