Scotland manager Steve Clarke has once again refused to rule himself out of the running for the Celtic job – much to the delight of Rangers supporters.
Whilst it’s all about the goings-on at Ibrox whoever the Parkhead club chooses to appoint will of course have a big impact on Rangers’ plans going forward.
Our Old Firm rivals are in disarray as the season reaches a crescendo and there remains real doubts about who is the man to turn it around in Glasgow’s eastend.
Rangers are rampant and after three seasons of hard work are bearing the fruits of a successful campaign which could yet herald more prizes.
But ahead of next season, Scotland boss Clarke – who’ll lead the nation to the Euros this summer – has refused to rule out a move elsewhere.
“People can speculate all they want but it’s not my job to get involved in speculation. I can’t knock anything on the head,” said Clarke [Sky Sports].
“Why would anybody say they don’t want anything? Why would I do that? I could be somewhere else in the summer, I don’t know what’s going to happen.
“Did you know this time last year that we were going to be stuck in the house all this time by a pandemic?

“Nobody knows what’s going to happen so I don’t think it’s fair that you always say I’ve got to knock it on the head. I didn’t start the speculation.
“I’m delighted and proud to be the manager of Scotland.
“Flattery comes because my players have been fantastic, my staff have been fantastic, and we’ve had a little bit of success. Without the success, you don’t get the speculation. That’s the way I see it.”
It very much sounds like Clarke is certainly open to the idea of taking over at Parkhead – an appointment which would be welcomed by some Rangers supporters:

Rangers are in a very good place heading into the final furlong of the season and will waltz into Celtic Park this weekend in their first match since being crowned Champions.
Celtic’s communications in the run up to the tie have been a joy to behold as the reality of 55 and what it means for the game up north begins to settle in.
