Some Rangers fans are actually happy “garbage” Celtic star has evaded ban

Some Rangers fans might be asking how Celtic captain Scott Brown has managed to evade a retrospective ban for an elbow in a week when Alfredo Morelos was punished.

Gers forward Morelos is currently serving a three-match ban for an alleged stamp on Hibs defender Ryan Porteous with manager Steven Gerrard criticising inconsistencies in the disciplinary process.

On the day Rangers criticised the decision-making process Scott Brown evaded a red card for an elbow on Kilmarnock midfielder Aaron Tshibola in a match where, like Morelos, he would go on to score in.

Despite Gers fans raising the question and the Brown incident reportedly being reviewed by the SFA, the Celtic captain has once again got off with the elbow.

But for some fans it’s not so much of a blow given how poor Brown has been this season.

Celtic striker Albian Ajeti has been cited for a dive which resulted in a penalty for his side in Celtic’s 4-0 win over Kilmarnock but Gers fans are still frustrated with a lack of consistency.

The issue for fans is not Morelos being punished, it’s Morelos being punished whilst other players are not and matches are re-refereed.

Taking to Twitter many of the club’s supporters are asking why the Celtic captain has been able to evade a ban for the cheeky elbow on Tshibola but as explained, not all of them are gutted:

Rangers are now 17 points from title glory with the club on track to win their first top tier trophy in close to a decade either on or before the next Old Firm at Celtic Park.

Should the Gers manage the feat, could some quotes from Celtic manager Neil Lennon from 2019 come back to haunt him if Rangers go to Celtic as Champions?
