As the Scottish Premiership season rolls to its triumphant conclusion for Rangers, an old debate between the Ibrox club and Celtic hasn’t been quite so prominent this campaign.
For the last couple of seasons, the debate over Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos and Celtic star Odsonne Edouard has kept rival fans occupied and irritated in equal measure.

But this campaign there is only one player who stands out in this tiresome comparison – Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been streets ahead of the French forward.
Edouard – who is also Celtic’s penalty taker – might now be the top scorer in the Scottish Premiership but the forward has struggled all season in a toiling Parkhead team.
Across the city, Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has transformed his game, his lack of goals not down to a lack of form but rather to a more selfless role in the side.
Morelos is Rangers’ focal point who drops deep and drives forward with a creative ingenuity and work ethic that completes Steven Gerrard’s vibrant side.
El Bufalo’s performances in the Europa League – another stage where he has outshone Odsonne Edouard – have been a joy to behold and should Rangers have any further success in that competition, you can bet the Colombian will be involved.
As we enter the summer both players will once again be subject to transfer talk aplenty with Celtic in a precarious position regarding Odsonne Edouard.
The French forward’s contract is up at the end of next season whilst Morelos is contracted to Rangers until 2023.
And yet – despite this – some reports are claiming Celtic could get £21.6m for the forward with Premier League side Arsenal reportedly making a “solid enquiry” [Daily Record].

With a year longer left on his deal and performing at a level far beyond the French youth international, if this the case Rangers would be mad to let him leave for anything less.
Whilst no-one wants to see Alfie go, there’s only one thing which should hold him back from getting a Scottish record transfer fee for Rangers.
