Rangers have been handed a transfer boost after a report claimed that Ibrox-linked Siriki Dembele was put up for sale by Peterborough United.
The Peterborough Telegraph are claiming that the Posh will sell Dembele this summer because he has yet to sign a new contract at London Road.
This is a matter of “club policy” and it will see the 12-goal attacker – who helped fire Peterborough to the Championship last season – move on in the coming months.
Whilst previous reports had suggested negotiations had not yet been opened between Dembele and Peterborough, this fresh report claims a bumper pay increase remains “unsigned” by the forward.
This – the Telegraph suspects – could see a bidding war break out for the player’s services with a whole host of clubs interested in the player.
Old Firm rivals Celtic – for whom Dembele’s younger brother Karamoko plays – have been credited with a keen interest in the forward.
Newly relegated Sheffield United, West Brom and Fulham are also credited with an interest with Peterborough said to be expecting a “considerable fee in the millions” for the player this summer.
This news also comes after Ivory Coast born Dembele, 24, handed in a transfer request in January amid much speculation regarding his future.
Dembele isn’t the only Peterborough player being linked to Rangers either with the Ibrox club also said to be tailing a 31-goal forward who exploded into life this season.
