In the modern age of social media, podcasts and digital programming, competition is fierce for this fighting for clicks and subscribers with Rangers clash with Hearts receiving top billing this weekend.
Gers boss Philippe Clement knows that his side is in for a tough afternoon but that his own team is also full of confidence.
Not as confident as the Scottish Football Podcast’s Ewen Cameron though who is predicting that, not only will Rangers lose to Hearts, but that they will soon be competing for the title.
Rangers tipped to feel the heat from Hearts
The well-known Jam Tarts fan is never one to be shy of an opinion or two and regularly uses the podcast to hold individuals to account.
One of those individuals was Steven Naismith who Cameron wanted removed as Hearts boss ages ago before overseeing a run of results that has almost guaranteed third place.
Obviously, much of this is due to the goalscoring exploits of Lawrence Shankland and keeping him fit will be key to their aspirations for the rest of the season.
Aspirations that, according to Cameron, should go beyond Rangers having three points taken off them by Hearts:
“If Hearts, in the next three weeks, can stay unbeaten and beat Rangers at Ibrox and beat Celtic at Tynecastle, Hearts are in the title race.”
Hearts could well beat Rangers at the weekend.
Anything can happen over 90 minutes if a team has a solid defence and a good goalscorer.
They don’t need to play great football or creat a lot of chances.
Just stay in the game, keep it tight and hope that your star man can produce that one moment of magic.
But a title race is an entirely different matter.
Hearts are in a good run of form but there is little evidence that they can close the gap on Rangers and Celtic.
Close games being decided by screamers isn’t sustainable over the long term.

No big claims or promises.
Just each game at a time and making as much effort as possible to win them in the process.
Leaving the nonsense to others in the process.
