Rangers romped to a comfortable 4-0 victory in Gibraltar as St. Joseph’s resistance was eventually put to the sword in the second half.
The European minnows defended admirably in the first half and limited Rangers to a range of half-chances.
By the same token, Rangers were inventive and dominant, and beginning to settling into the game.

As the second half-begun Rangers were more direct and relaxed and their dominance began to show.
A cultured volley from Ryan Jack had Rangers ahead.
Sheyi Ojo then finished similarly as to how he did against Oxford, with a bending shot clipping the inside of the post.
A free-kick from Borna Barisic (it was definitely over the line before Goldson tapped it in) and a header from Alfredo Morelos rounded things up.
But it was Liverpool loanee Ojo’s performance which caught the fan’ attention the most.

It was a very pleasing display and Rangers looked athletic, direct and very comfortable on the ball.
There will be bigger tests to come both in Europe and domestically, but the signs are incredibly encouraging.

It’s the kind of result and performance Rangers should be looking for against St. Joseph’s. The players were professional, focused and hungry, and delivered it.
It’s only the first game and there’s a long way to go, but it really feels like an exciting time for the club on and off the pitch.
Onwards to the return leg at Ibrox next Thursday.
