Eagled-eyed fans reckon ex-Rangers and Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo could be the man behind viral Premier League alter-ego turned rapper Dide.

It comes after a music video for Dide track Thrill went viral this week with social media channels blowing up as supporters tried to work out who the rapper might be.

But some fans reckon they’ve solved the puzzle with tattoos on Dide in the music video appearing to match up with ex-Rangers star Sheyi Ojo, who is now playing for Cardiff City.

Twitter user Kendall Rowan has sent the tabloids scrambling by appearing to match a diamond tattoo on the wrist of Sheyi Ojo with that of Dide in the music video.

Initially, lyrics to the song, such as “my team stay winning”, had plenty believing Dide might’ve been one of Arsenal’s young talents such as Bukayo Saka given their Premier League hunt this season.

Sheyi Ojo’s full name is also Oluwaseyi Babajide “Sheyi” Ojo and there is also something of a similarity between Dide and the Babajide which is in the 25-year-old’s full name.

Ex-Rangers winger Sheyi Ojo could be Dide

Rangers fans can make their own minds up on this one but it’s interesting one of the club’s former players has found himself at the centre of the viral investigation.

Gers fans will remember Dide, sorry Sheyi Ojo, from a year-long stint in Glasgow which started brightly but burned out before the winger could find any consistency.

Signed on loan from Liverpool in the summer of 2019, Sheyi Ojo will be remembered for that winning goal in the Fernando Ricksen match v Feyenoord in the Europa League, the long-range effort the only strike in a 1-0 win.

Starting strong and petering out appears to be the trajectory of Ojo’s career too, with the once highly-rated Liverpool winger now at Cardiff but on the bench in the Welsh capital.
