Scottish Premiership rivals Hibs are interested in signing Rangers’ versatile defensive midfielder Ross McCrorie, according to the Glasgow Times.
The report claims that Jack Ross’ side may have to settle for a loan deal for McCrorie if they cannot agree on a suitable fee with the player have two years left on his contract.

Should McCrorie move on personally, it would be a substantial fall from grace for a player once described as a “future Rangers captain” by Steven Gerrard.
It is said that Steven Gerrard would like to “retain” McCrorie as part of his squad so this would suggest a loan move is perhaps most suitable for all parties.
The Times report describes the 22-year-old as one of the “key targets” for Jack Ross with the Easter Road club in “pole position” to sign the former Scotland U21 captain.
They also claim the Rangers Academy graduate is “not short of suitors” on the continent or down south and they monitor his ongoing situation at Ibrox.
Utility man McCrorie spent last season on loan at Portsmouth FC in English League One and narrowly missed out on promotion through the playoffs.

McCrorie was employed as a right-back throughout his spell at Portsmouth and has also played in midfield and central defence for Rangers.
Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty, 23, was farmed out on loan to Hibs for the second half of last season and impressed during his short stint in Edinburgh.
