A report coming out of Scotland is claiming Lille are set to test Rangers’ resolve with an £18m bid for striker Alfredo Morelos – roughly the asking price a report in France claims the Gers want for the forward.
The Scottish Sun and journalist Andy Devlin believes the Ligue 1 outfit are preparing an £18m bid for the Colombian.
This report comes amid claims from FootMercato that Rangers knocked back a £13.7m bid from Lille for the player as the Gers hold out for £18.2m.

These reports also come after comments from Lille president Gerard Lopez, where he said that he expects a title-challenging squad to be in place within the next two weeks.
This suggests if the Lille have their heart set on a move for Morelos and meet Rangers’ asking price, a transfer could be imminent.
“The process is led by (sporting director Luis) Campos who offers profiles to Christophe Galtier,” said Lopez [L’Equipe].
“Where some are wrong is that they see certain names come out and think that we’re obligated to sign them.
“Even if we’re interested in one profile, it’s only in combination with others. We’re changing two forwards, it’s more complicated than selling a player and finding a replacement.
“The strength is the system and the quality of our scouting process.
“Our squad building will take place in the next two weeks.

“We’ll have no excuse not to be fighting at the top table, we don’t have a budget that allows us to look elsewhere.
“We’ll remain humble, but we will have talent.”
Lille were first claimed to have agreed personal terms with Morelos by Mohamed Bouhafsi, who suggested Les Douges just had to agree a fee for the striker.
The chase for Morelos also comes after Lille sold their star man and Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, who has joined Serie A side Napoli for a reported £54.7m (€60m) fee.
As it stands, journalist Andy Newport believes that “no further talks are planned”.
