There might’ve been a few metaphorical tears shed when Rangers winger Scott Wright left for Birmingham City this week.
Whilst the 27-year-old attacker didn’t always hit the heights expected at Ibrox, Wright was always available to play and always gave everything he had.
Even if the quality wasn’t always there to shoot Rangers to glory.
A personable and effective squad player, Scott Wright secured his move to English League One Birmingham City ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
And only days since moving to St Andrews, Wright has enjoyed what can only be described as a dream start south of the border.

Scott Wright’s dream Birmingham City debut
The biggest problem Scott Wright had at Rangers was always in front of goal.
The winger was given plenty of opportunities at Ibrox but struggled to add enough goals or assists to his game to be an effective enough option for the club.
But Wright has had no such problems at Birmingham City following a £300k move to the Championship promotion hopefuls this week.
Coming off the bench in the 52nd minute of a clash against Wigan, with the score tied at 1-1 Wright was given the chance to be a hero.
And in the 91st minute of the game, the ex-Aberdeen and Rangers winger popped up to cap a dream debut with a late winning goal to fire Birmingham joint top of League One on ten points.
Finding space in the box following a corner, Wright fired a left-foot shot high into the back of the net to send the St Andrews legions delirious.
It was the perfect introduction for Scott Wright to the Blues faithful and as far as debuts go, you literally cannot get any better.
Scott Wright’s emotional address to Rangers
Scott Wright has also been taking to Instagram to send a message to Rangers supporters following his move to Birmingham City.
The winger joined Rangers in the January of 2021 after initially signing a pre-contract deal from Aberdeen.
Part of the side that won 55, Wright also scored in the victorious Scottish Cup Final over Hearts in 2022 and came off the bench in last season’s League Cup Final win over Aberdeen.
Having also started the Europa League Final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt, Wright has been a part of the albeit inconsistent success Rangers have had in recent seasons.
In an emotional message to supporters, Wright thanked the fans as he reflected on ‘living the dream’ at Ibrox.
“I look back on my time at Rangers with such fond memories,” Wright wrote on Instagram. “I had moments and experiences I could only have dreamed of as a young boy.
“Thank you to everyone behind the scenes and all of my team-mates that have been a part of my journey.
“I want to thank Ross Wilson and Steven Gerrard for bringing me to this club, and all my previous managers I’ve worked under during my time there.
“I want to wish Phil and the boys nothing but the best of luck for this coming season.
“The same goes for supporters who back the team with the same passion week in, week out. It’s been an honour.”
Scott Wright played 120 games for Rangers, scoring 12 goals and laying on seven assists.
