Scotland international Ryan Jack has talked up a potential new contract at Rangers with talks not set to talk place until 2024.

The Ibrox midfielder, 31, is a key leader in the club’s dressing room and alongside teammate John Lundstram is experiencing an upturn in form in the middle of the park.

Incoming Rangers boss Philippe Clement has certainly had a positive impact in this early part of his Ibrox career and the Gers team are responding.

Speaking about his own future, with Ryan Jack signing a one year contract extension back in May this year, the Rangers star is clear he wants to remain at Ibrox but that talks to do so are a little while off just yet.

“You want to be at the top for as long as possible,” said Ryan Jack “There will probably be a chat, but I wouldn’t imagine that will be any time soon.

“Maybe after Christmas and the New Year we’ll see where we’re at. We’ll see what the club’s vision is for next season and the season after and we’ll take it from there.

“I’m quite relaxed about it. I was in the same situation last year.

“I love playing for the club and you want to stay at the top as long as you can. We’ll see what happens.”

Ryan Jack hopes to win new Rangers contract

Rangers boss Philippe Clement will hope his charges focus squarely on the football as the Ibrox club looks to challenge on four fronts this season.

Midfielder Ryan Jack has been a loyal servant to Rangers over the years but he will need to continue to prove his worth if he wants to earn a new contract.

The fact Jacko is out of contract at the end of the season adds extra incentive for the midfielder to maintain a high level of performance.

But as has so often been the case in Ryan Jack’s Rangers career, any new contract may also hinge on the player’s injury status.

Whenever the 17-times capped Scotland star has got fit he’s been pegged back and Rangers fans will be hoping Jack gets through the next international break unscathed.

Boyhood bluenose Ryan Jack joined Rangers in the summer of 2017 after his Aberdeen contract expired and recently played his 200th game for the club.
