Rangers have announced the pre-contract signing of Aberdeen winger Scott Wright, and our salty rivals haven’t exactly taken it all that well.

The Dons support have arguably the biggest one-way rivalry in world football with Rangers, the Aberdeen fans trying to stoke the flames whilst the Gers fans largely laugh their efforts off.

In Glasgow, lowly Aberdeen are largely considered an inconvenience more than a proper footballing rival.

The most public display of saltiness over Rangers securing one of the Pittodrie side’s best players in Scott Wright has come by way of a banner.

The banner – too foul-mouthed to repeat on this website – was hung out by a group of disgruntled Dons who’ve seen both Ryan Jack and now Scott Wright leave Aberdeen for Glasgow.

Just wait until we pinch Lewis Ferguson as well.

It’s not just on the streets of Aberdeen that our friends from the northeast have been losing the rag over Wright’s move to Rangers.

The Dons have been spewing on social media as they come to terms with their 23-year-old asset moving to Ibrox on a pre-contract deal.

Here are some of the saltiest Aberdeen fan reactions to the Scott Wright signing as the Gers look to beef-out their squad heading into next season:

Delicious, salty mutton tears and the entire thing was made even better by his welcome to the Rangers squad by another player the Dons don’t care much for.

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack was certainly happy to see his old teammate join the ranks at Ibrox as he took to Instagram to send him a special welcome.
