With Rangers star Ryan Kent absent from training pictures on the week that the Gers kicked off pre-season, there was conjecture as to why he wasn’t alongside his teammates.

The £7m former Liverpool star is a vital component of this Rangers side and amid much talk of Leeds United interest, some were chewing their fingernails nervously awaiting a justification.

But the player’s absence has since been explained by a leading club insider who understands Ryan Kent is injured and has been training indoors as part of his recovery.

Stevie Clifford of Four Lads Had a Dream was talking on the Heart & Hand Daily Update – available to the outlet’s Patreon subscribers – and mentioned that he’d alluded to this in earlier blogs.

“Ryan Kent has got a slight knock and instead of training outside with the squad he’s training inside and working with the physios,” said Clifford.

“The club aren’t concerned; that’s basically why you haven’t seen him running outside.

“It’s the same as Ryan Jack, working inside with the medical staff, they’ll be doing gym work until they join up with the rest of the squad.

“As I said it’s not much to worry about or anything, it was covered in the press last week, there’s no situation there other than exactly that.”

This will come as a relief to Rangers fans who were unaware of the situation surrounding Kent as the club looks forward to welcoming him back into training in the coming weeks.

Rangers fans were initially worried about the player’s absence but will be glad to see him back amongst the first team ahead of season 21/22.
