Ryan Jack has opened up on Rangers’ late-season form, as quoted by the Daily Record.
A poor March ended the Gers’ title ambitions once and for all, but then Steven Gerrard found a reaction from his team.
After pushing Scott Arfield forward alongside Jermain Defoe, the goals started to flow. Furthermore, with Nikola Katic reinstated alongside Connor Goldson, the defence also tightened up.

Those two facets contributed to a winning streak of six matches, the best league run of the season.
However, the campaign was to end on a sour note, with Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Rugby Park.
“We’ve shown we have the ability in the squad to win big games but it’s showing that consistently”, said Jack,
as quoted by the Daily Record
“We did it towards the end of the season but as everyone is trying to make a thing of, there’s no pressure then and you’re playing for pride so we need to do that more consistently throughout the season.
“We’re disappointed obviously to end the season with a defeat and it was a chance missed to make history because there was a lot of talk about no team having won all their post-split fixtures.
“But at the same time, it’s hard to have too many complaints because we’ve been on a good run and it just wasn’t to be on the day for us.”

Verdict

There’s no doubt it was a disappointing note to end on for Gerrard’s side.
However, there’s been enough evidence over the last two months to provide the fans with optimism for next season.
Jack made 46 appearances for the Gers across the campaign. He’s now an experienced operator and extremely reliable in the middle of the park.
If silverware is to return to Ibrox during 2019-20, he’ll play a big role in securing it.
