It proved to be a weekend of mixed fortunes for Rangers’ loan stars, competing for their adopted clubs across the Scottish and English leagues.

Greg Docherty’s performances for Shrewsbury Town have caught the eye of many in recent weeks. However, his run of good form ended yesterday. He was substituted during a 3-2 defeat at Wycombe Wanderers.

Jak Alnwick also struggled. He conceded twice in a home defeat to Pompey. The loss sees Scunthorpe slip to a precarious 18th position in League One.

Jason Holt, may still be smarting at manager and former teammate, Joey Barton. The midfielder was booked and then substituted at half-time during a 2-1 loss at the hands of Plymouth Argyle.

Other Rangers loanees had altogether more success.

The performance of the weekend undoubtedly goes to Joe Dodoo. The forward completed the scoring for Blackpool with an acrobatic volley, securing their win over Burton Albion. He has now scored four in four for the Tangerines.
