A Rangers podcaster has explained the origin of Ibrox links to Dutch coach Ronald Koeman after bookies odds dropped and the conversation raged around the ex-Barca boss.
Koeman, 58, was in charge at the Nou Camp only a matter of weeks ago but emerged this morning as amongst the frontrunners for the job in the betting stakes.

The entire thing was intensified by the news a private jet was flying into Glasgow from Amsterdam – originally linked to Giovanni van Bronckhorst – with the Dutchman also a potential passenger.
Whilst reports on the ground in Scotland have claimed Koeman was never an option, Rangers have reportedly whittled their shortlist down to three.

Of this three only Giovanni van Bronckhorst is in the public domain with much conjecture surrounding the other two names involved.
Hence why Ronald Koeman posed such an interesting option earlier in the day.
Origins of Ronald Koeman links to Rangers come from Israel
The origin of the story appears to stem from Rangers fan and Heart & Hand podcaster Andy Barnett tweeting about the interest from Tel Aviv.
According to reports coming out of Israel – where Ronald’s brother Erwin Koeman manages Beitar Jerusalem – Koeman is a genuine candidate for the Rangers job.

Barnett expanded on the story on the popular platform’s Daily Update [16/11/21].
“Erwin Koeman, Ronald’s brother, is manager of Beitar Jerusalem,” said Barnett.
“I don’t have anything more than very basic claims, nothing heavily substantiated just to clarify, but there are some chat over here amongst the journalists that Ronald Koeman is one of the main three.
“But again as I mentioned very clearly in my tweet, I doubt Israeli journalists have anywhere near the same level of contact to Rangers as what the people in Scotland do, just to clarify”.
The search continues for the next manager of Rangers but as the discussion continues over Koeman, host David Edgar pointed out that Koeman was on £10m-a-year at Barcelona.

It’s certainly outwith the Ibrox club’s reach but as we await an announcement we suspect there might be a few more outlandish claims to come.
A leading club insider has made a claim regarding a potential Rangers announcement on the subject as the Gers are confirmed to have met someone off that plane.
