Robin van Persie takes chance to impress Rangers fans
Whilst Robin van Persie was only turning out in a Weekend of Legends game at Rangers, there was a time when the player almost signed on the dotted line at Ibrox.
Back during the reign of Dutch coach Dick Advocaat, Van Persie was ready to sign for the Gers but the move never materialised due to financing issues.
βI spoke to Dick Advocaat, who was the manager of Glasgow Rangers and he was interested, I was interested, I was ready to go,β said Robin van Persie.
βBut they first needed to sell one player before they could buy me, or something like that.
βI was still very young, maybe 19 or 20, but in the end I went to Arsenal.β
Robin van Persie has shown his class over the Weekend of Legends and Rangers fans will hope to see him back at Ibrox playing again in the future.
