The Rangers Women kicked off a new era of women’s football at Ibrox with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Hearts at the Rangers Training Centre to top off an excellent weekend.
The Ibrox club has transformed the female footballing department, investing heavily to incorporate it into the club’s footballing vision for the future.

Rangers’ ambition in this regard is simple and – just like the men’s team – is all about dominating Scottish football and the club have made a superb start this season.
The women’s game has long been neglected not just at Ibrox but across Scotland and Rangers enter the race for female footballing supremacy at an interesting time for the global women’s game.
Never has female football had such a springboard for success and Rangers will be hoping their investment – which has seen a raft of international players join the club – pays off.
But they’ve already had to wait.
The coronavirus pandemic wreaked havoc with the Scottish footballing calendar with both lower league football and the women’s game being put on the back burner.
But in the meantime Rangers have been able to integrate this new squad of international and homegrown talent in the hope that they can mount a serious assault on the league title.
Kicking off against Hearts, the Rangers Women dominated the match from start to finish, with a debut hat-trick from Scotland international Zoe Ness the highlight of the game.
Malky Thomson’s side went into the break 2-1 up, both Gers goals coming from Ness with the Gers side disappointed to lose a goal from the second phase of a corner.
However the Rangers Women would make their superiority count in the second half as Ness nabbed her hattrick, with Kirsten Reilly and Demi Vance rounding off the scoring.
