Reports Willem II fans let off fireworks at Rangers hotel through the night

There have been unconfirmed reports of fireworks being set off outside the Rangers hotel ahead of the club’s clash with Willem II.

Presumably by cheeky Willem II supporters, the idea would be to disrupt the Rangers team’s preparations ahead of the crunch clash in Holland.

Whilst the reports remain unconfirmed images of fireworks exploding outside the Gers hotel were uploaded by a Willem II fan to Twitter before being deleted.

Twitter user and Willem II fan @TillyTillburg uploaded a video of the fireworks with the caption “Spektakel bij het hotel van Rangers in Eindhoven vannacht”.

In English this translates as “Spectacle at the hotel of Rangers in Eindhoven tonight”.

Here’s a screenshot of the original post:

There’s also a thread on Twitter of some fans discussing what hotel Rangers are staying at and seemingly hinting at the plans.

There have also been unconfirmed reports from Rangers fans staying in Eindhoven on popular fan’s forum Follow Follow that they were awoken by fireworks in the early hours of the morning ahead of the match.

It’s a classic tactic from European supporters ahead of these crunch matches and the Willem II fans certainly appear desperate to have an impact even if they’re locked out of the ground.

The Dutch fans travelled in their numbers to Luxembourg in the last round v Progres and certainly appear up for this one tonight.

Rangers will be grateful for the fact the match is due to kick off at 8pm UK time limiting the impact of any disruption through the night.
