Transfer talk never seems to be far away from Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos and there’s a link to Premier League outfit Aston Villa which has resurfaced this week.
The Colombian forward has been in red-hot form for Rangers this season, leading the club’s scoring charts with 14 goals in only 19 appearances.
His form was always going to attract interest, and with his temperament seemingly under control, Birmingham Live have been discussing the links in greater detail.
The news outlet has published three stories this week on the Colombian striker, suggesting that these are links the Villa fans are lapping up.
The digital news outlet then published Craig Levein’s quip that he’d put a bid in for Morelos after Rangers were linked to teenage full-back Aaron Hickey [Birmingham Live, originally Edinburgh Evening News].
So whilst much of this might just be riding the wave of speculation in the wake of ambiguous reports, the conversation about Morelos’ future is beginning to intensify.
Links to Villa make sense. A Premier League side with cash to burn, they’re very light upfront with first-choice striker Wesley Moraes shouldering much of the goalscoring responsibility for his new side.
