Reports have confirmed that Rangers’ Swedish international defender Filip Helander will miss the nation’s next fixture with Denmark due to new UK Covid-19 guidelines.
Anyone travelling to Britain from Denmark will need to quarantine for 14-days with no exemptions after an outbreak of mutated coronavirus originating from mink.

Following a cull of some 17m of the animals in the Scandinavian country authorities across Europe have moved quickly to ensure the spread is kept under control [Guardian].
We had mused over the possibility of Helander being affected with Sweden travelling to their next-door neighbours for a friendly match on Wednesday 11th November.
Now a range of reports have confirmed that this will indeed be the case with the big defender set to miss out on the Swedish squad’s trip to the country [Glasgow Times].
However, it remains to be seen if the defender will be available for the nation’s UEFA Nation’s League matches against Croatia (14/11) and France (17/11).
As it stands Helander would not have to self-isolate if he visited either Sweden or France even if he will be joining up with a group of players who have just visited a region on the UK’s quarantine list.

The big defender might’ve slipped up against Benfica but he has been a consistent presence at the back for a Rangers side who haven’t shipped many goals this season.
Helander was also lauded as a big part of Janne Anderson’s Sweden plans after being called up for their matches against Denmark, Croatia and France.
