Reported summer Rangers target and West Brom attacker Grady Diangana is reportedly set for an £18m move to Premier League West Brom.

Sky Sports are reporting that the Premier League new boys have agreed the substantial fee for the 22-year-old but now Fulham and Aston Villa are trying to hijack the deal at the 11th hour.

The report claims that West Brom are ahead of the pack with the deal involving an initial £12m fee and £6m in performance-related bonuses.

The deal would also be a record transfer for the Baggies, eclipsing the £15m they spent on ex-Celtic loanee Oliver Burke, should the transfer go through.

Diangana is a product of West Ham’s youth academy and has spent last season on-loan at the Hawthorns.

The winger has also been capped once at U21 level for the English national team.

Rangers were linked with a move for the winger by the Herald in July, with the Scottish newspaper also suggesting Old Firm rivals Celtic had an interest.

The Herald story also claimed that Rangers came close to landing the creative talent last season before “moving on to other targets”.

The youngster – who has born in the Democratic Republic of Congo but grew up in southeast London – was previously said to be open to a move to Glasgow such is the lure of European football.

But Rangers and Celtic cannot compete with the extravagant transfer fees on offer down south in the Premier League and certainly cannot afford to put out £18m on one player.
