Reported Rangers target Kevin Nisbet continued his fine goalscoring form for Dunfermline at East End Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Glasgow Times credited the Gers with interest in the 22-year-old forward in November, and the rumours appear to have inspired him in front of goal.
He’s been on fire over the last two months, netting 12 goals in his last eight appearances – including a four-goal salvo against Partick Thistle – prior to Saturday’s showdown against bottom of the table Alloa Athletic.
True to form, Nisbet opened the scoring in the 20th minute, heading a Ryan Dow cross from close range into the bottom right-hand corner, meaning he has now only failed to score in two of his last nine outings.
However, his goal was quickly cancelled out, with Adam Brown levelling for the visitors just a minute later.
Against the odds, Alloa then completed the turnaround to go in front through Kevin O’Hara on the 25-minute mark.
In the second half, there was no rally from the hosts, just more success for the visitors, with Iain Flannigan converting a penalty in the 66th minute.
Disappointment, then, for the Pars, who are three points off the playoff spots.
Individually, Nisbet continues to excel, though, and if there were more Rangers scouts watching him this week, they have yet another goal to report back about.
