Reported Rangers striker target officially signs for La Liga club

Rangers fans will be disappointed to learn that Israeli striker Shon Weissman has officially signed for La Liga side Real Valladolid.

Weissman, 24, will join up with the Spanish outfit on a four-year deal after an impressive season in Austria for Wolfsberger AC.

The powerful striker hit 37 goals in 40 games in his debut season for the Austrian club, including 30 in 31 in the Austrian Bundesliga.

With reports circling around Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos and the Ibrox exit door, Rangers were linked with a move for the player alongside Schalke, Galatasaray and of course Valladolid [Pucela Fichajes].

Those reports had Rangers fans excited with many of the Ibrox support expressing their excitement at the suggestion the forward could join the ranks at Ibrox.

But with the situation involving Morelos unresolved Rangers have been beaten to the chase as Weissman joins up with the club which is owned by Brazilian footballing legend Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was said to be a huge fan of Weissman by Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague, who also earlier confirmed the player would be moving to Spain.

Rangers have signed strike duo Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten to bolster their attack this season with strength in depth a real issue at the top end of the pitch last season.

The Ibrox side also have veteran forward Jermain Defoe amongst their ranks whilst Alfredo Morelos’ Rangers future still remains up in the air.
