Any proposed January move for Scotland hero and reported Rangers target Kenny McLean appears to have been thrown up in the air after a nasty injury to the Norwich midfielder.
Rangers were linked with a January move for the ex-Aberdeen midfielder at the tail end of the international break following his decisive penalty in the win over Serbia [the Sun].

But now the 28-year-old midfielder’s place in the Scotland squad for Euro 2020 is under threat after a potentially season-defining injury.
McLean could face up to five months out after a worrying knee injury which he will be sent for a scan over, as he faces a nervous wait to find out about potential surgery.
“Kenny McLean is also out, we scanned him this morning after he twisted his knee and he has a meniscus tear,” said Norwich boss Daniel Farke [Daily Record].
“We will wait for the injury to settle down and he’ll see a specialist this week. We will also handle this in a conservative way.
“He will be out for six weeks or if he needs surgery it could be four to five months.”
Rangers had been linked with a January move for the playmaker with the Sun report claiming that the Gers could either move permanently or draw up a loan-to-buy move.
However, McLean has previously been valued up to £10m by reports down south [the Sun] with the likes of Premier League West Ham also reportedly interested in the player [the Sun].

But even in the best-case scenario of six weeks that would take McLean to mid-January by which point Rangers could’ve moved on in the window.
With the Gers also linked to a powerful Czech international midfielder, do the club have eyes on replacing an ageing midfielder pair currently in the first team?
