As any potential Leeds move for Rangers’ Ryan Kent becomes “more difficult”, a prospective £31m move for Argentine international Rodrigo de Paul may kill it stone dead.
Journalist Alan Nixon – who broke the story on Leeds’ interest in the player – has explained that any prospective move for Kent has been hampered by Lille’s interest in Alfredo Morelos.
The story goes that Rangers may allow one of their prime assets to leave, but not both.
But Leeds have not waited around for Rangers in their pursuit of Kent, splashing out a combined £43m to bring Spanish international Rodrigo (£30m) and German defender Robin Koch (£13m) to the club.
Now the Yorkshire club are also turning their attention to Udinese’s Argie playmaker Rodrigo de Paul with reports suggesting they’d need to splash out £31m to sign the player [Guardian].
On top of this, the same report claims Leeds are moving for defender Josko Gvardiol from Dinamo Zagreb.

It’s expected to be a busy window for the Elland Road club as they look to build a side capable of making a proper impression in the Premier League after 16 years away.
But with Rangers adamant that Leeds will need to cough up if they want Kent – and the winger content in Glasgow – their investments elsewhere may back up claims the deal is all but dead.
