Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson has left the club for Nottingham Forest – and the move will bring a six-figure fee to Ibrox.
It’s never a dull week at Rangers and the last few days have proven that.
There has been all the fallout from the defeat to Celtic and now the shock circumstances surrounding Wilson’s exit.
Wilson has been under huge scrutiny in recent times with Rangers fans far from impressed with his business.
Some have called for Rangers to axe Wilson and move in another direction after a number of disappointing signings.
Instead, Wilson has left Rangers of his own accord and is returning to English football with Nottingham Forest.
Rangers have now confirmed Wilson’s departure and this means the Gers are actually receiving a fee for Wilson when many wanted him sacked.
The Daily Record (22:35) claim that Rangers have received a six-figure sum for Wilson though the exact amount is unknown.
It’s added that Wilson has been allowed to ‘call the shots’ at Forest and will be taking major power away from owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Rangers’ next move after Ross Wilson will be interesting
The summer transfer window is looming and Rangers now face an interesting situation.
Much of the preparation work was probably done already, so Rangers may be tempted to go through the summer without a replacement.
Do they then target a like-for-like replacement and go down the sporting director route again?
Michael Beale seemed to have decent power in the January window with the signings of Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin.
Maybe the Gers will instead go for more of a head of recruitment appointment, a slightly reduced role from the one Wilson held.
The next step is unclear for Rangers but most fans will just be stunned at the news of actually receiving a fee for somebody who wasn’t exactly popular at Ibrox.
