Rangers are still in the hunt for Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers despite claims in Italy that a deal was off.
The Gers landed one Serie A striker last week as Sam Lammers completed his move from Atalanta.
Michael Beale has been wanting another one though with Dessers a prime target in recent weeks.
Calciomercato reported earlier in June that there was real confidence Rangers would be signing Dessers in a total deal worth €5.2million (£4.5million).
However, the same news outlet claimed earlier this week that Dessers has now rejected Rangers and wants to stay in Italy.
That sent Rangers fans into a slight panic as Beale seemingly faced up to missing out on a key target.
The Daily Record have calmed the fears though, reporting that Dessers to Rangers is still very much on.
It’s stated that Dessers is waiting for another approach from Rangers and is still keen to make the move to Ibrox.
Champions League football is attractive to Dessers, meaning Rangers do still have a chance to bring him in this summer.

Big things would be expected of Cyriel Dessers at Rangers
Make no mistake, Dessers would be expected to hit the ground running if he joins Rangers this summer.
Lammers has arrived with a disappointing goal return of late, scoring just five goals in the last three seasons.
The 26-year-old may get back to his best but he isn’t a nailed-on goalscorer for Rangers.
Dessers has a completely different record, scoring seven times in a relegated Cremonese side this past season.
Add in 20 goals on loan at Feyenoord, 18 goals in 29 games for Heracles Almerlo, 19 goals in 56 games for TUtrecht and 29 goals in 40 games for NAC Breda and you start to see why Rangers want Dessers.
The Gers would be paying millions for a player who turns 29 in December.
This isn’t a move with future profit in mind, this is a move which is all about a proven goalscorer finding the net regularly – and quickly.
Rangers still have hope of landing the Nigerian international and we would expect news to come in the next week or so as Beale looks to get him on board.
