Rangers put in their best performance of the season and their best for some time to see off Dundee with Philippe Clement’s message beginning to look loud and clear.
Even at 3-0 up, his side were relentless and the scoreline could easily have been bigger than the 5-0 that it ended with at the final whistle.
One of the main reasons for Rangers dominant display was the way in which Philippe Clement has got his team creating big chances again, not that BBC’s Sportscene would have you believe this.

Rangers relentless under Philippe Clement
But for Trevor Carson, Rangers could easily have scored eight or nine with both an inspired Danilo and Cyriel Dessers, who drew support from Gers legend Colin Stein, fighting over who gets to keep the match ball.
With five goals scored as well as chances missed and a keeper in fine form, you’d expect the statistics to be heavily in the Light Blues’ favour?
Not according to Sportscene as picked up by X page and Rangers fan Seville Calculator.
During the manager interviews, they posted graphics that had Dundee with 13 attempts at goal to Rangers eight and with the home side registering five on target to our one.
That’s not a bad effort to score five goals with only one shot on target.
Scoring five goals from an expected goals tally of 1.15 is equally as impressive.
The actual numbers, obviously, paint a more accurate version of events.
With 32 attempts at goal and an xG of 5.19, Rangers were as dominant as they have been in almost any game since 2018.
It’s just a shame that the BBC couldn’t keep up with their counting!
Philippe Clement has, almost immeditaley, turned Rangers around with nothing more than giving the players the freedom to attack in numbers and a belief in their own ability.
As the, correct, numbers show, this is a team that is no longer feeding off scraps as he looks to close the gap at the top one game at a time.
