Controversial referee Kevin Clancy is to return to Ibrox for the first time since the 4-0 win over Dundee United which resulted in Rangers boss Steven Gerrard being charged.
Gerrard was hauled up in front of an SFA court for comments he made about a challenge on Alfredo Morelos from Dundee United defender Ryan Edwards.

The Ibrox gaffer had suggested that the referee might look at the situation differently had it been Alfredo doing the tackling, with the clash in question leaving him with a lump out of his leg.
There was no foul awarded – let alone card given – and thankfully Morelos made a quick recovery but not before Gerrard was charged by the SFA for breaching disciplinary protocols.
The case was eventually thrown out the Rangers boss acquitted but since the incident in September controversial referee Clancy hasn’t been back at Ibrox.
Rangers said they were “unsurprised” at the verdict but they “remain bemused” as to why it was brought in the first place [BBC Sport].
The whistler is set to return as the fourth official for the crunch clash with Aberdeen in Glasgow, with Nick Walsh the main referee and Douglas Ross and Alan Mulvanny as assistants [SFA].
Clancy has come in for particular criticism for comments he made at the beginning of the season regarding “what’s at stake” with Celtic going for “10IAR” [Clyde SSB].

Ibrox fans will be hoping the officials do not take centre stage for this one at Rangers look to continue their fine form at home this season.
Rangers have barely conceded a shot on target let alone a goal at Ibrox this season and ran out 8-0 winners in their last match at the stadium, dumping a struggling Hamilton side.
