Reported Rangers transfer target Francis Amuzu scored again for Anderlecht on Monday as his strong form continues ahead of the January transfer window.
The Gers have been linked with Amuzu for some time.
In early 2021, Belgian outlet Voetbal24 claimed that the Gers were preparing a bid for the pacy winger.
While no move materialised in that transfer window or in the summer, Rangers scouts were spotted at a fixture between Anderlecht and Charleroi in November, and Ghana Soccernet reported earlier this month that he’s on the Gers’ radar ahead of the January transfer window.
L’Avenir then reported last week that Everton and Wolfsburg are also keen on the 22-year-old.
Anderlecht manager Vincent Kompany has primarily been using Amuzu as an impact substitute this season, with 13 of his 19 league appearances coming off the bench.
He scored a brilliant goal in a draw against champions Club Brugge earlier this month, cutting inside and beating several players before finding the bottom right corner with a fine strike.
The ex-Netherlands youth international didn’t find the net in a Belgian Cup quarter-final win over Kortrijk last week but he was back amongst the goals on Monday evening, completing the scoring in a 7-0 hammering of Beerschot.
In the 72nd minute, Amuzu once again received the ball on the left and cut inside onto his right foot, before getting off an effort at goal.
This shot was a lot less fierce and precise than his strike against Club Brugge but it still found its way into the net, with Beerschot keeper Mike Vanhamel allowing it to squeeze through his legs.
Amuzu now has five goals to go alongside four assists across across all competitions this season.
Scotland international and bluenose, Lawrence Shankland, came off the bench for Beerschot for the second half but wasn’t able to make an impact on the match.
Meanwhile, a former Rangers player scored a stunning goal in an overseas league on Boxing Day.
